2,000 Puts Trade in Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (Symbol: HCC)

This morning 2,000 July 18 ’25 40 puts in Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (Symbol: HCC) traded for $2.05, HCC stock was trading for $47.48 at the time of the trade. The investor bought the puts in an opening trade with the open interest less than 1,500 this morning.

The HCC puts are a 20 delta, and the trade is the equivalent of 40,000 shares of stock. Earnings re expected to be released in the first week of August, so these puts will expire prior to the release. The investor may just be hedging a long stock position or speculating that HCC will fall below $40 before July 18.

HCC is currently trading at $47.58; HCC has a 52-week high of $75.34 and a 52-week low of $45.96.

    I find it amusing that the stock is down from the 70’s in December and the IV is the highest been in the past few years and now someone decides to buy a bunch of puts! And by the way I show they are scheduled report May 15th after the bell. Thanks as always for posting.
