Ubisoft postpones earnings release, requests Euronext halt trading
“Game On” is The Fly’s weekly recap of the stories powering up or beating down video game stocks.
NEW RELEASES: Among this week’s most notable new releases is Oculus Studios’ (META) virtual reality hack-and-slash title “Marvel’s Deadpool VR,” based on the Marvel Comics character. The game releases November 18 for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. Also out this week is Nintendo’s (NTDOY) racing party game “Kirby Air Riders,” which launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20.
STEAM HARDWARE: Last week, Valve’s PC gaming platform Steam announced several new gaming hardware products, including a new Steam controller, the Steam Frame VR headset, and most notably the Steam Machine, a console that “has the power to play your whole Steam library, including your favorite AAA titles.” Steam Machine comes with SteamOS, an OS optimized for gaming, with fast suspend/resume and cloud saves. All the new devices are coming in 2026, though the company has not yet unveiled pricing for any of them.
UBISOFT HALT: On Thursday, Ubisoft (UBSFY) announced the postponement of the release of its results for the first half of fiscal year 2025-26. Ubisoft has requested Euronext to halt trading of its shares and its bonds from the market opening on November 14, 2025, until the publication of its first-half 2025-26 results in the coming days. Ubisoft will inform the market of the date on which trading will restart.

NETFLIX GAMING: Netflix (NFLX) is shifting its video game strategy to focus on popular titles like Pictionary, Boggle, and Tetris, which will be playable in its app on TVs using phones as controllers, The New York Times’ Nicole Sperling reported. Alain Tascan, who heads Netflix’s game division, said “The number of companies that have access to hundreds of millions of people – in our case, more than 700 million – on the main entertainment screen at home, are less numerous, and we are one of the leaders.”
The report comes a day after The Verge’s Ash Parrish reported that Take-Two’s (TTWO) 2010 hit game “Red Dead Redemption,” from “Grand Theft Auto” developer Rockstar Games, will release on mobile and on Netflix’s gaming platform on December 4, 2025. The game will also receive updates for PlayStation 5 (SONY), Xbox Series X/S (MSFT), and Nintendo Switch 2, Parrish noted.
NEW SONY HARDWARE: During a State of Play Japan event last week, Sony’s PlayStation business announced that it will release a Japanese-language only PlayStation 5 Digital Edition just for Japan on November 21, 2025. The console will retail a 55,000 yen. Pre-orders for this model will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 13th at PlayStation retailers and online stores in Japan. Additionally, the company announced a new 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook – coming to the U.S. and Japan in 2026.
