1/

Uranium, Gold, and Silver Miners Surge

$URA or Uranium  is the standout performer both YTD and over 5 years, reflecting strong momentum in nuclear energy.  $SIL or Silver and $GOEX Gold surged in 2025 due to rising silver, gold demand and commodity inflation.  Moreover, they have easily outperformed the $SPY and $QQQ with their gains showing that portfolios with diversification to uncorrelated assets matters

Staggering Gains for Cameco and Oklo; Lock in Profits

Countries are embracing nuclear power as a clean, reliable energy source. Reactor demand is forecasted to double by 2040.  Meanwhile, years of underinvestment in uranium mining created tight supply, pushing uranium prices higher.  Companies like $CCJ Cameco and $OKLO Oklo posted staggering gains lifting the URA ETF outperformance.   We note that CCJ has done 16X returns from trough while OKLO has done 26X Returns from its low of 5.45 just in 2024.  These types of performances beg the question on whether people are chasing momentum or betting on long term transformation.  As technicians,  we would use % gain over 1 week / 1 month and overlay volume spikes and RSI > 80 with high retail interest to screen for parabolic exhaustion.  Look for wide-range candles, failed breakouts, or bearish divergences to lock in significant profits on the commodity assets.

Wide Candle Monthly Ranges in Gold Miners Signal Caution

The strong performance of both GDX and GOEX in 2025—up 110% and 114% respectively year-to-date—can be attributed to their top holdings $NEM $AEM $B $WPM and $FNV and their performance has been amplified by gold’s rally and investor rotation into safe-haven assets.  We do note that the recent price action using % change in week/% change in month as well as the large range candles signal potential parabolic exhaustion and caution clients to lock in profits in the significant rallies seen in these asset classes.
