Real-World Asset (RWA)

Trading Term

A Real-World Asset, or RWA, refers to any asset that exists off blockchain, such as traditional financial or physical assets (e.g., Treasuries, credit, real estate, or commodities) — represented on a blockchain. The token acts as a digital wrapper around an off-chain asset, enabling on-chain transfer, collateralization, and programmability.

Tokenized RWAs allow investors to access yield-generating, regulated assets—like tokenized stocks—on decentralized platforms, increasing liquidity while keeping exposure to the underlying asset.
