The Interactive Brokers’ (IBKR) GlobalTrader Stock Scanner provides an easy-to-use search platform for the investor to choose stocks based on the parameters they input such as market cap or dividend yield. Access the Stock Scanner from either by tapping the blue trade button and using the search bar at the top of the screen or by going to the Explore screen.

In the Explore screen the investor can tap on the Search bar at the top of the page to bring up a list of recently searched symbols. Underneath the search bar the investor should tap “stock scanner” to bring up the scanner. Once the GlobalTrader Stock Scanner screen is up the investor can search by any or all of the following:

  • Market Cap,
  • Region,
  • Industry,
  • Last Price in USD,
  • Price / Earnings or P/E Ratio, and
  • Dividend Yield

For this example, the investor is going to search for the following:

  • Mid Cap in Market Cap,
  • EU in Region,
  • Financial in Industry,
  • They are not going to select a Last Price or P/E Ratio, and
  • 2-4% for the Dividend Yield

A list of results will appear, and the investor can add the stocks to the Watchlist by tapping on the plus sign or bring up the stock information screen by tapping on the symbol and create a trade from there.

The investor can also adjust the filters by tapping on the filter button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen and new list will formulate.

The GlobalTrader Stock Scanner is an easy-to-use tool that allows the investor to streamline their search by filtering a stock’s data.
