Catch up on the top industries and stocks that were impacted, or were predicted to be impacted, by the comments, actions and policies of President Donald Trump with this daily recap compiled by The Fly.

TARIFFS: Businesses are split over whether the Trump administration should propose new tariffs on Vietnamese goods, Francesco Guarascio of Reuters reports. Tesla (TSLA) and Samsung (SSNLF) are among those not in favor, while others have called for penalties. November 29 is the deadline to conclude a trade launch in May over the country’s alleged intellectual property violations. The U.S. accused the country of “a persistent failure to resolve long-standing concerns about IP protection and enforcement.”

PUBLIC LISTING: Kaz Resources, a tungsten mining company with ties to Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, plans to go public through a direct U.S. listing next year in a deal valued at about $2B, The Wall Street Journal’s David Uberti reports. The listing would give investors exposure to tungsten, a critical material used in munitions and semiconductor manufacturing, according to the report. The company’s planned mine in Kazakhstan, partly owned by the country’s state run mining firm, also aligns with the Trump administration’s efforts to secure critical minerals and strengthen ties with Kazakhstan amid Chinese and Russian influence.

DEFAMATION LAWSUIT: U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles dismissed President Trump’s $20B defamation lawsuit against News Corp., publisher of the Wall Street Journal. “The Court agrees that President Trump’s defamation claims lack merit,” the judge wrote. A spokesman for Trump’s legal team said the president would appeal the ruling. “The President will continue to hold those who mislead the American People with Fake News and smears accountable for their actions,” the spokesman said.
