A few years ago, energy markets went on a historic run.
From the 2020 lows to the 2022 peak, a simple equal-weight basket of Crude Oil, Gasoline, Heating Oil, and Natural Gas surged more than 500% in just two years.
It was one of the most powerful multi-year advances in history.
Since then, things have cooled off…
The price has pulled back, chopped sideways, and spent the better part of three years building a base.
Now that base is starting to resolve higher, signaling the beginning of a new uptrend.

Earlier this year, our Energy Futures Composite broke out of a textbook consolidation and rallied nearly 60% in just a few months.
More recently, it has pulled back about 15%, right into a shelf of former highs from 2023.
And here’s the key… In technical analysis, we have a thing called the principle of polarity.
It states that once former resistance is broken, it turns into support. And once former support is broken, it turns into resistance.
This is yet another textbook example.
Prices are holding where they should. And if that level continues to stick, it sets the stage for the next leg higher, potentially back toward the 2022 highs, which sit roughly 50% above current levels.
The fundamentals don’t hurt either…
Between rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the massive energy demands coming from AI infrastructure and data centers, the backdrop is quietly turning more supportive.
But at the end of the day, we don’t need a war story.
Price is already telling us everything we need to know.
And right now, it’s suggesting energy might just be getting started again.
