Gasoline prices are poised to rise for the 12th consecutive week to north of $4.00 a gallon for the first time since August of 2022. Indeed, the week ended on March 30th printed a result of $3.99, and given the trends in the energy futures markets, it’s almost certainly going to increase in this week’s report again. The Interactive Brokers prediction market does see a limit to the gain though, as the “No” at $4.20 is priced at $0.97, however, the “Yes” at $4.00 is also at $0.97, indicating that the publication will arrive somewhere between the two available thresholds.
