The World Map Screener allows the user to easily find stocks that match strategies, using search Factors. The combined Factors are displayed as a single blended score, helping users common size stocks across regions, where companies may report in different currencies, and the tool allows users to prefer high or low values for each Factor.

Find the World Map Screener from the Interactive Brokers’ homepage and click on the Services Menu and click on the first link to IBKRGlobalAnalyst.

Locations of companies identified by the output are identified on the Global Map. Use the mouse wheel and control key to zoom in or out.

From the dropdown menu, the World Map Screener shows four predefined combinations built using several of the 20 Factors. Users can build their own scans by adopting a maximum of 10 Factors.

The Screener then ranks the results according to their Blended Score to the left of the page below the global map. The user may isolate each company (by clicking) in order to see the Blended Score as well as each Factor score. A Summary of key data is also displayed.

The Factor output is also displayed in a plot with each Factor listed on the periphery. The larger the score or percentage change per Factor, the closer to the outer periphery is the marker for any Factor. The plot displays a shape with each side representing one of the chosen Factors.

Click the Compare button to generate a list of stocks with comparable Factor scores. Click one to overlay in the plot view. Note that comparable Factors does not mean that the two companies operate in the same sector or industry. The scanner matches companies with similar Factor ratings. Click the Replace button to remove the selected stock.

To create a personalized Screener, click the Start Over button. Remove any of the Factors displayed in red by clicking to gray. Hover above any Factor to reveal a pop-up description for each. Click each Factor to add it to your Screener. Click once to display the up arrow next to the Factor, indicating a preference for higher values within that Factor. Click the Factor button once again to change the preference to lower scores in your scan. To remove any Factor, click again.

Conclusion: Use the World Map Screener to generate ideas and look for stocks around the world that match the combination of Factors that matter most to you.
