Shares of Vanguard International Semiconductors (TICKER: VIS), a Taiwanese manufacturer of integrated circuits, have seen a steady increase in borrow demand over recent months. Borrow quantity, a tightly correlated proxy for short interest showing the total number of shares borrowed, has increased by 100% compared to last year, with the share price experiencing similar gains, up 54 percent compared to 2023. With continued market volatility over concerns of a US recession and fears of a sell-off in Asian chipmakers due to geopolitical tensions, users can continue to monitor this activity in Orbisa.
