Scrypt Hashing

Trading Term

Scrypt is a memory intensive cryptographic hashing algorithm used in certain cryptocurrencies, like Litecoin (LTC), to secure transactions and validate blocks.

The original intent was to resist Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) dominance, promoting decentralization.

The Scrypt algorithm converts transaction data into a fixed-length hash, and miners must find a hash below a target value to add a new block to the blockchain.
