Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Taxes

Trading Term

Net operating profit less adjusted taxes, commonly called NOPLAT, estimates the profit generated by operations after related taxes. It excludes the effect of financing choices and certain nonoperating items.

NOPLAT is frequently used to calculate return on invested capital and economic profit. Tax adjustments should be applied consistently when a company has tax credits, losses, or income across multiple jurisdictions.
