Dividend Coverage from Free Cash Flow

Trading Term

Dividend coverage from free cash flow compares cash remaining after operating requirements and capital expenditures with cash dividends paid. It indicates whether the dividend is supported by internally generated funds.

Coverage below one may be manageable temporarily if the company holds substantial cash or has unusually high investment spending. Persistent undercoverage may indicate reliance on debt, asset sales, or existing cash reserves.
