IB Bulletins

Introduction

From time to time, IB sends out important News Bulletins via EClient.reqNewsBulletins which can be accessed via the TWS API. These are delivered via the EWrapper.updateNewsBulletin callback. Subscriptions can be cancelled using EClient.cancelNewsBulletins.

Request IB Bulletins

EClient.reqNewsBulletins(allMessages)

Subscribes to IB’s News Bulletins.

allMessages
bool

If set to true, will return all the existing bulletins for the current day as well as any future updates.


self.reqNewsBulletins(True)

Receive IB Bulletins

EWrapper.updateNewsBulletin(msgId, msgType, message, origExchange)

Provides IB’s news bulletins.

msgId
int

The bulletin’s identifier.

msgType
int

One of: 1 - Regular news bulletin. 2 - Exchange no longer available for trading. 3 - Exchange is available for trading.

message
String

The bulletin’s body text.

origExchange
String

The exchange from which this message originated.

Cancel IB Bulletins
