IB TWS Download and Install Instructions for Windows

These instructions may vary slightly based on the browser you use and the browser version.

Step 1

Click the button to download the desired version of TWS (Latest, Stable or Beta). Depending on the browser you’re using, you may be asked to Save or Run the file:

Google Chrome

Chrome users will find the download at the bottom of the browser window. Wait for the file to fully download and click to start the installation.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox may require that you Save the file first and then run the executable file. Use the download arrow in the Firefox title bar to see the download, and click to invoke the “Run” box. Save the file in a directory you’ll remember so that you can double-click the saved file and run the executable file.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

IE users will get a run/save message at the bottom of the browser window. For ease of installation, we recommend you either Run the application or choose to “Save and run” using the Save drop down menu.

Step 2

Click “Run” to run the file.

Step 3

Use the wizard to install Standalone TWS.

a.) Click next to continue and allow the installer to extract files.

b.) Click Finish! To start up TWS and log in now, check the Run Trader Workstation checkbox.

c.) A new TWS icon is now on your desktop. To log into this version of TWS, double-click the icon and enter your username and password.
