You can now trade US spot gold (TWS: USGOLD)1 in amounts as small as one ounce, side-by-side with other asset classes, from your Interactive Brokers account.
Investors use gold as a store of value, to hedge against inflation, to diversify a portfolio, or as a safe haven during geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty. The addition of spot gold to Interactive Brokers' broad product offering provides our US clients with direct access to gold at a time when many are predicting inflation to rise.
US GOLD transactions have low and transparent tiered commissions from 0.7 bps to 1.5 bps of trade value with a minimum of $2.00 and are priced with tight spreads. Interactive Brokers clients can request some or all of their US GOLD positions in one-ounce increments for physical delivery in the United States.
Metals trading permission is needed to trade this product. To add this permission:
After receiving Metals trading permission, you can begin trading USGOLD in Trader Workstation (TWS) by creating an order ticket, typing "USGOLD" in the Financial Instrument search field, entering your order details, and clicking "Transmit."
If you are trading from Portal, click Trade > Commodities, search for "USGOLD," enter your order details, and click "Submit Buy Order" to place the trade.
Interactive Brokers clients trading COMEX precious metal futures can now take physical delivery2 of COMEX Gold, Micro Gold, Silver and Micro Silver futures. Physical delivery is in the form of a registered warrant for each futures contract. Clients who meet credit requirements will be able to indicate their intention to take or make delivery directly from Trader Workstation, Client Portal or IBKR Mobile.
Please refer to the COMEX Rulebook for additional information regarding the details of what a warrant represents for that symbol.

Interactive Brokers' ("IB LLC") Stock Yield Enhancement Program allows you to earn extra income on fully paid shares of stock in your account*. Under the program, IB LLC borrows shares of stock from you and provides you with collateral until those shares are returned. While the shares are on loan, you earn a percentage of the loan income generated from IB LLC on-lending your shares.
Interactive Brokers manages all aspects of share lending. While your shares are on loan you still own the stock, which means you continue to have market risk and will recognize any profit (or loss) if the stock price moves. You can sell your shares at any time without restriction and can terminate your participation at any time for any reason.

These portfolios use an Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance ("ESG") investment strategy. Such a strategy could limit the types and number of investment opportunities available to these portfolios, lead the portfolios to underperform a portfolio without an ESG focus or with a distinct ESG focus, and result in the portfolios investing in securities or industry sectors that underperform the market as a whole or foregoing opportunities to invest in securities that might otherwise be advantageous to invest in. Interactive Advisors could also be unsuccessful in creating a portfolio composed of companies that exhibit positive ESG characteristics.
The construction of the Socially Responsible Investing Portfolios reduces but does not eliminate exposure to companies that investors interested in socially responsible investing may consider to be undesirable. ESG investing is qualitative and subjective by nature, and there is no guarantee that the criteria utilized, or judgment exercised, by Interactive Advisors will reflect the beliefs or values of any one particular investor. Information regarding the Socially Responsible Investing practices of companies these portfolios invest is obtained through voluntary or third-party reporting, which may not be accurate or complete, and Interactive Advisors is dependent on this information to determine the inclusion of a company in a portfolio (based on its commitment to, or implementation of, socially responsible practices).
