Euronext Brussels

NYSE Euronext Brussels lists more than 145 foreign and domestic companies and offers trading in stocks, real estate certificates and rights/subscriptions.

The Brussels Stock Exchange formed in 1801. The eventual merger of the Brussels Stock Exchange with the Paris Bourse, Lisbon Stock Exchange and the stock exchanges of Amsterdam in 2000 marked the formation of Euronext. The exchange was renamed NYSE Euronext Brussels following the 2007 merger of NYSE Group, Inc. with Euronext N.V.

The BEL 20, a real-time basket index reflecting the continuous pricing of the 20 most liquid Belgian shares listed on NYSE Euronext Brussels, is the benchmark index for the Brussels stock market.

Belfox

The Belgian Futures and Options Exchange (Belfox), the derivatives exchange of Belgium, was established in 1991. Belfox merged with the Brussels Stock Exchange in 1999 and is now owned by NYSE Euronext.

NYSE Liffe implemented a new market model for the options market, instituting a new liquidity provider system, full harmonization of rules, functionalities, corporate action handling and operational procedures for both the Brussels and Amsterdam derivatives markets.
