After over 30 years tracking only 30 of Germany\u2019s largest stocks, the\u00a0DAX\u00ae was expanded to 40 members in September 2021, the same month as the landmark election of the successor of Germany\u2019s Chancellor of 16 years, Angela Merkel. Earlier in 2021, the\u00a0DAX\u00ae\u00a0also saw the launch of a new\u00a0\u201cmicro\u201d futures contract with a reduced trading unit size of\u00a0\u20ac1\/point, or around\u00a0\u20ac15,750\/contract, which is 1\/5 the size of the older\u00a0\u201cmini\u201d\u00a0DAX\u00ae\u00a0contract.
