EVA is an established standard in measuring, analyzing, projecting, valuing, and discounting a firm&#8217;s underlying economic profit rather than its accounting profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-iss-eva-dashboard\">How to use the ISS EVA Dashboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The ISS EVA Dashboard has five boxes at the top of the screen: Recent, Advanced Search, Research Category, Company Search, and Keyword Search. When the investor initially goes into the Discover tool and selects EVA Dashboard they are brought to the Recent Screen which will display the research, regardless of company or category from newest to oldest. The investor can click on any of the four column headers: Title, Research Category, Analyst, or Date to sort by that category. The investor clicks on the article title to bring up the research and can scroll through the pages by clicking on the arrows in the upper left-hand side. In the upper right-hand side, there are three icons: the investor can click the box to make the article full screen, click on the printer to print the article, and click on the paper icon to save the article to a file on their computer to read later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To exit out of the article the investor can click on the screen background behind the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-iss-eva-advanced-search\">How to use the ISS EVA Advanced Search<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advanced Search allows the investor to search for research using specific keywords, ticker symbols, analysts, categories, and dates. The investor can use more than one search filter in the Advanced Search, for example they can type \u201cauto\u201d into keyword search and select a specific analyst to bring up results matching both of those criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-iss-eva-research-category\">How to use the ISS EVA Research Category<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The investor can click on the Research category icon to bring up a drop-down box menu to filter out all but one category. The investor can choose to only see research in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Weekly Roundup<\/strong> \u2013 \u00a0Once a week ISS publishes a summary of the research reports generated within the week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Screens<\/strong> \u2013 Generally lists of companies based on specified criteria. ISS have some recurring screens, such as their Better World series, where they use ESG as a criterion for the screen, as well as some one-off screens to capture a theme ISS might see in the market. These reports are typically across different sectors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Macro<\/strong> \u2013 Top-down views of the market, looking at economic factors and tending to focus on the favorability\/unfavorability of sectors and\/or the overall market but not discussing individual securities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quant\/Factor<\/strong> \u2013 Backtest reports or any reports associated with factor performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry Snapshot<\/strong> \u2013 Quick review of an industry, which usually includes an aggregate view of the fundamentals and valuation as well as a list of the most attractive names. These reports usually contain screens of the largest companies in the industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sector Research<\/strong> \u2013 Analysis of a sector, which will typically include sector-level aggregate data as well as screens for the largest Market Cap names and\/or the most attractive names.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Names in the News<\/strong> \u2013 a deep dive into two stocks that are either in the news or have significant changes to their fundamentals or valuation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other <\/strong>\u2013 Anything not covered by the above categories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-iss-eva-company-search-in-the-iss-eva-dashboard\">How to use the ISS EVA Company Search in the ISS EVA Dashboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the investor wants to research a specific company they can type in the symbol or name of the company in the Company Search box and the ISS EVA dashboard will bring up company-specific research as well as research that is related to the company\u2019s industry, sector, or comparable companies. In this example the investor types in \u201cAlphabet\u201d and can look at the resulting articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-keyword-search-in-the-iss-eva-dashboard\">How to use the Keyword Search in the ISS EVA Dashboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Keyword search feature is useful for the investor when they want to narrow down their search to a sector, industry, or look up a specific subject. Typing in \u201cauto\u201d will bring up any research that is relevant to the auto industry and typing \u201cinflation\u201d will bring up any research that mentions inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ISS EVA Dashboard is a powerful addition to the IBKR Discover tool that provides insightful research in an easy to sort format. ISS EVA is an independent equity research provider offering investing insights using a proprietary Economic Value Added (EVA) framework. EVA is an established standard in measuring, analyzing, projecting, valuing, and discounting a firm&#8217;s underlying economic profit rather than its accounting profit. The ISS EVA experienced team of global analysts offers both fundamental and quantitative company analysis on over 24,000
