In this lesson, we cover the various order functions available in the IBrokers package.<\/p>\n<h4>In this lesson, you would:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn how to construct different types of orders<\/li>\n<li>How to place or cancel orders to TWS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Order Function Types<\/h3>\n<p>The orders functions covered in the lesson include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>reqIds function (helper function)<\/li>\n<li>twsOrder function<\/li>\n<li>placeOrder function<\/li>\n<li>cancelOrder function<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>reqIds Function<\/h3>\n<p>This is a helper function which is used to obtain the next valid order ID for use with the TWS. The function takes a valid tws connection object as its argument. The function returns a character representation of the next numeric ID.<\/p>\n<p>The syntax of the function is given as:<\/p>\n<p>reqIds(conn)<\/p>\n<p>Where<\/p>\n<p>conn \u2013 a valid twsConnection of class twsconn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3436 aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"\/campus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2020-09-29-at-3.11.05-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"203\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 960px; aspect-ratio: 960\/203;\"><\/p>\n<h3>twsOrder Function<\/h3>\n<p>The function creates a twsOrder object which is used in the placeOrder API call.
