Prediction markets are wary of a housing sector recovery, as tomorrow\u2019s \u201cYes\u201d on existing home sales<\/a> at the threshold consistent with 4 million seasonally adjusted annualized units goes for just $0.41. Real estate conditions have remained in downturn territory since 2022, as elevated borrowing costs, locked-in homeowners at much lower mortgage rates and lofty valuations have hampered prospective buyer momentum and derailed construction activities as a result. For this reason, investors expect a decline from August\u2019s 3.98 million, as the median estimate in the monthly Reuters poll of 45 forecasters stands at 3.95 million, amidst minimums and maximums of 3.8 million and 4.01 million, indicating a potentially greater chance of a downside miss rather than an upside beat. The distribution of expectations in my view, favors the \u201cNos\u201d within Interactive Brokers Prediction Markets, particularly at the 3.9 million and 4 million thresholds, which are priced at $0.90 and $0.41. I additionally think that under is more likely than over at this juncture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial German CPI Was 126.6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany\u2019s initial estimate of its September Consumer Price Index<\/a> came in at 126.6 after August printed 125.8, a 0.6% monthly increase. Meanwhile, the 126 \u201cYes\u201d available on Interactive Brokers Prediction Markets for just $0.91 has an exceptionally narrow chance of losing money in my view, as it\u2019ll require a monumental downward revision to less than 0.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
