How are you?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeff, I am great. How are you?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-0\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m good. He\u00a0comes in usually\u00a0every other Wednesday,\u00a0talk\u00a0about the market.\u00a0You can find more from Scott on our website under education and also on prospertrading.com as well.\u00a0But,\u00a0let&#8217;s\u00a0kick this off, Scott,\u00a0&#8217;cause\u00a0we got&#8230;\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0a Wednesday morning and, you know..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-0\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think\u00a0there&#8217;s\u00a0anything going on?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I heard something at 2:00 might be going on. I\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0know.\u00a0Maybe something. I\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0know.\u00a0Maybe some\u00a0soap operas, Price Is Right. I\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0know. But\u00a0yeah, so obviously the Fed decision&#8217;s a big item that, you know, full\u00a0disclosure,\u00a0this is being recorded before\u00a0that&#8217;s\u00a0been announced, so.\u00a0We&#8217;re\u00a0just\u00a0gonna\u00a0kind of discuss, start off with last week. You know, oil prices surged again, while Treasury, you know, yields climbed and these major stock indexes also, they finished lower.\u00a0So\u00a0Scott, was this primarily like an energy-driven sell-off, or do investors just fundamentally\u00a0reassessing\u00a0the outlook for inflation and interest rates at this point?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yeah, I think\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0a little bit of a combination between energy and interest rates. If I had to give it a percentage,\u00a0I&#8217;d\u00a0probably say\u00a070% interest rates, 30% energy. But, you know, when you look at the correlation between oil prices and the equities and\/or interest rates and the equities, very tight correlation these days, right?\u00a0So, I would say that those two things are absolutely driving the equity markets here. Now,\u00a0let&#8217;s\u00a0just play this out. If,\u00a0let&#8217;s\u00a0say we were to get a resolution in the Mideast, you know, with Iran and oil prices drop. Does that mean\u00a0immediately\u00a0we&#8217;d\u00a0see the market react positively and higher?\u00a0Probably, but in my opinion, not as much as if, let&#8217;s say the Fed comes\u00a0out\u00a0and they say, &#8220;We&#8217;re not raising rates, and we see inflation just\u00a0sta- you know, it&#8217;s going down,&#8221; blah, blah, blah, blah. That to me would have more of an impact on the markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even with that sell-off, you know, stocks did rebound on Friday a little bit,\u00a0after those\u00a0several consecutive declines.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kind of short recovery signal, was that renewed confidence or was it just investors kind of repositioning ahead of this week&#8217;s Fed, you know, meeting, today&#8217;s Fed meeting actually?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You know, it was a little repositioning, but you\u00a0gotta\u00a0remember last weekend after that recovery on Friday, all that news came out about AI, right? That was after the market closed on Friday. Had we not gotten that news, my guess is the markets\u00a0probably would&#8217;ve\u00a0just held those gains. Maybe not, you know, gained more than that.\u00a0So, you know, we talked about rates, we talked about inflation, we talked about energy, but now the AI story, you know, is there again, kind of putting that risk-off mode back into the markets a little bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You know, circling back to obviously, you know, today&#8217;s decision announcement, you know, like prediction markets have it at like over 90% that\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0gonna\u00a0go up. I mean, again, we\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0know. But, besides the decision itself,\u00a0&#8217;cause\u00a0that is what it is, but after the decision, what should investors listen for, you know, in the statement?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like, are there,&nbsp;They&nbsp;should look for economic projections, you know,&nbsp;and also&nbsp;like the press conference, right?&nbsp;There&#8217;s&nbsp;so much like data upon data&nbsp;and like&nbsp;maybe&nbsp;kind&nbsp;of hidden&nbsp;nuances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh,\u00a0yeah.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">..For these, you know, for investors to really kind of listen to besides for just the number.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, I think the algos and the HFTs are\u00a0gonna\u00a0know what to listen for, specific words, specific inflection from Warsh. Yeah, we&#8217;re\u00a0gonna\u00a0get a raise today most likely, but more importantly is what he says about October, December, going into next year, because all of a sudden now, the possibility or probability of an October hike in addition to today is upwards of about 45%.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So&nbsp;it is definitely going to be what he says. And,&nbsp;also&nbsp;I think what&#8217;s&nbsp;gonna&nbsp;be&nbsp;very important&nbsp;is how is the entire committee&nbsp;gonna&nbsp;vote on this? If&nbsp;it&#8217;s&nbsp;a unanimous vote and&nbsp;you&#8217;ve&nbsp;got some of the FOMC members from last time that were not in favor of a hike, if&nbsp;they&#8217;re&nbsp;now in favor, that could lean this a little bit more hawkish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-5\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides today, which is obviously big news, but there&#8217;s always data, right? We always&#8211; You and I always talk about this. I mean, Thursday we have housing starts, building permits, jobless claims, and, you know, regional manufacturing jobs. So how could these\u00a0reports, could they\u00a0reinforce this economic resilience, or could they, you know,\u00a0sort of begin\u00a0to reveal more visible pressures from potentially higher borrowing costs?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-5\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sure, and\u00a0that&#8217;s should be\u00a0reflected in some of the housing data, I would think. Even though the housing data is old, right?\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0in the\u00a0rear view\u00a0mirror.\u00a0That&#8217;s\u00a0still as rates were moving higher. I just saw this morning that 30-year rates are now\u00a0back\u00a0over 7%.\u00a0That&#8217;s\u00a0not\u00a0gonna\u00a0be reflected in tomorrow&#8217;s\u00a0data, but\u00a0certainly moving forward.\u00a0So\u00a0I think\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0gonna\u00a0see some weak housing numbers, which could\u00a0impact\u00a0the market negatively. But\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0a matter at this point is how much is the market already pricing in\u00a0maybe some\u00a0of this weak economic data?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-6\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scott, this has been great as always.\u00a0Appreciate\u00a0you coming by.
