How are you?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeff, fantastic. How about yourself?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-0\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m\u00a0good. And for our listeners, every other Wednesday, Scott comes into the studio, and we talk about the market, the past week or so, and\u00a0what&#8217;s\u00a0coming ahead.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0a quick five to seven minutes, just so everyone can kind of catch this on their lunch break or whenever\u00a0they&#8217;re\u00a0around and just kind of get a good market update.\u00a0So, you can find more from Scott at <a href=\"https:\/\/prospertrading.com\">prospertrading.com<\/a>, as well as on our website under Education, and you can find\u00a0previous\u00a0podcasts and webinars from Scott and Prosper Trading Academy. Hey, Scott, so last week, oil prices surged as US-Iran tensions escalated, and Treasury yields\u00a0actually rose\u00a0right along beside them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, with investors starting to price the idea that energy-driven inflation could keep the Fed from cutting or even push it toward hiking, what does this energy-inflation-rates linkage&nbsp;kind of tell&nbsp;us about how fragile the broader disinflation story really is?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-0\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh,\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0everything.\u00a0It really is because the Fed has to analyze this data on the whole and not just month to month.\u00a0So, if you go back\u2014and this is backwards-looking in the rearview mirror\u2014those numbers for CPI and such looked\u00a0pretty good\u00a0because, from a month ago, we saw fuel prices down.\u00a0Now\u00a0they&#8217;ve\u00a0risen again, and this is\u00a0kind of this\u00a0ebb and flow back and forth. So,\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0a little bit difficult for the Fed to be data-dependent on how inflation is reactive to fuel prices when\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0seeing fuel prices\u00a0literally trade\u00a0on tweets and just social media commentary.\u00a0So\u00a0that&#8217;s\u00a0a tough one.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yeah. And then we\u00a0actually had\u00a0a stronger-than-expected new home sales report.\u00a0But\u00a0the last couple\u00a0weeks, both the S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq had weekly declines. So, what do you think this is saying about market psychology when\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0starting to see some solid housing and earnings data, but\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0getting a broader kind of risk-off sentiment?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You know, Jeff, for\u00a0a very long\u00a0time we saw &#8220;buy the dip.&#8221; Now\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0in an environment\u2014I&#8217;m\u00a0not\u00a0gonna\u00a0say &#8220;sell the rip&#8221;\u2014but\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0now in an environment that this is really a sell first. So, on rallies, we are seeing the broader sentiment being, &#8220;Okay, I need to be on the sell side first.&#8221; I think that&#8217;s\u00a0gonna\u00a0change really soon.\u00a0I think that&#8217;s\u00a0gonna\u00a0change as we get a little bit deeper into earnings reports. And if we continue to see a really\u00a0good story\u00a0about the economy, about these companies, then\u00a0that&#8217;ll\u00a0flip to buy\u00a0the dip again.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I feel like we could go into the T-shirt business. Buy the dip, sell the rip. We could\u2014\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just flip it over.\u00a0Exactly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I mean, we can go on the boardwalk and hawk some T-shirts and make some money. But you led me perfectly to my next question,\u00a0&#8217;cause\u00a0this week brings a heavy load of earnings from several of these large tech companies.\u00a0I\u00a0think\u00a0Apple&#8217;s Thursday. And given the recent pattern of this\u00a0CapEx\u00a0guidance sort of overshadowing revenue strength, do you think the market&#8217;s tolerance for AI spending&#8217;s\u00a0gonna\u00a0kind of keep\u00a0up? Or do you think\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0gonna\u00a0just stay concentrated\u00a0in\u00a0tech? Or are they\u00a0gonna\u00a0be kind of more forgiving at this point with it?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I really hope, for the market&#8217;s sake, that it stays within the tech sector, maybe branches a little, because if we start to see increased\u00a0CapEx\u00a0spending everywhere else, I think that puts a lot of psychological pressure on the market.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mm-hmm.\u00a0Yeah, and then, as always, we have a full slate of economic data. I feel like every time we\u00a0talk,\u00a0there&#8217;s\u00a0always a full slate of economic data. And\u00a0we&#8217;ve\u00a0got the Fed meeting coming\u00a0up in\u00a0a little bit today. Which macro release this week do you think will have the most potential to move markets?\u00a0And does it matter more than the upcoming Fed\u00a0headline itself later\u00a0today?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-scott-bauer-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scott Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yeah, sure. So, we have the Fed headline, you know, in\u00a0a little bit today, and they&#8217;re\u00a0gonna\u00a0say what they&#8217;re\u00a0gonna\u00a0say about the data.\u00a0But I think tomorrow&#8217;s PCE report is going to be very critical.\u00a0Critical in the sense that, is it going to support what we saw with CPI, that things have calmed down a bit?\u00a0The conundrum with that is, if it does show that, has it slowed down because of those energy prices coming down also that we just saw?\u00a0So, PCE is going to be really important as maybe the driver of, okay, is inflation maybe under control this month?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-jeff-praissman-5\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jeff Praissman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right.
