The recent flare up in geopolitical tensions, which has broadened West from the Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea, has lifted the cost of crude oil significantly in just a few short weeks. Indeed, the West Texas Intermediate benchmark hit a low of $67.04 per barrel on July 2, before rising to a high of $92.83 last night. Against this backdrop, refined products aren\u2019t spared, as tightly correlated gasoline prices are expected to post their third weekly increase this Tuesday, after the previous three prints were $3.777, $3.855 and $4.001 per gallon. Another meaningful climb is projected by participants in the Interactive Brokers Prediction Market<\/a> as pain at the pump returns, with the \u201cYeses\u201d at $4.10, $4.15 and $4.20 going for $0.83, $0.27 and $0.04 for the incoming publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
