Election insights from the IBKR Forecast Trader suggest that the Republican party will lose its majority in the House of Representatives while holding its influence in the Senate with elevated degrees of conviction. For the lower chamber, probabilities<\/a> have been very stable on a year-to-date basis, sporting a narrow range from a low of 73% to a high of 76% throughout January. In the Senate, however the GOP sustains a commanding lead of 69%<\/a>, but that advantage has been narrowing since the beginning of 2026, when the chances were at a stronger 73%. The declining odds could be correlated with the lowest consumer confidence<\/a> reading going back to 2014, beneath the pandemic depths of 2020, as households remain pressured by heavy prices, lofty interest rates and labor market uncertainties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
