Hey Scott, how are\u00a0you?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeff, I am great. How about yourself?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jeff-praissman-0\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m\u00a0doing well.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0doing well. And it was great seeing you out in person in Las Vegas last week at your Ultimate Trades Experience. Once again,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0back in the studio for our Wednesday five-minute market summary. So, Scott, this past week we saw a tech sell-off, led really by Oracle and Broadcom. How surprised was the market by those earnings disappointments?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer-0\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I think there\u00a0was some optimism going in, but the prevailing theme right now is, as\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0seen, any sort of downbeat guidance or any sort of\u00a0miss,\u00a0these stocks are getting punished. Is that because\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0the\u00a0so-called AI bubble? I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0really think so. But I think people\u2014investors, retail\u2014they\u2019re\u00a0being\u00a0very cautious\u00a0right now, and the first move is to be protective and sell first.\u00a0So\u00a0it was not great for the market, but if you look more macro, more overall here, in that theme of rotation that we\u2019ve seen over the last week or so, I think the market\u2019s held in there pretty well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jeff Praissman:<\/strong>&nbsp;Yeah, no, I think&nbsp;that\u2019s&nbsp;a good point right there. And we had touched on this in&nbsp;previous&nbsp;podcasts with the government shutdown a while ago and how this kind of&nbsp;important information&nbsp;has been getting delayed. Yesterday, the government report on unemployment was released, showing the U.S. unemployment rate rose to 4.6%, the highest&nbsp;it\u2019s&nbsp;been in four years. But from the outside,&nbsp;it\u2019s&nbsp;a little confusing, right? With all these delays and everything, we also saw that 64,000 jobs were gained. How does the market process this information?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer-1\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I think \u201cconfusing\u201d is an understatement, and I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know how the market processes it, right? Because on\u00a0one\u00a0hand,\u00a0maybe we\u00a0have not-so-great news. On the other hand, maybe that 64,000 number\u2014which six months ago would have been horrific\u2014is now kind of being cheered as\u00a0a good number.\u00a0So\u00a0I think\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0just a data point, unfortunately, Jeff, and we\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0put too much into it until we get all the catch-up numbers and until\u00a0maybe two\u00a0or three months down the road to see what the actual current trend in the employment market is.\u00a0I think we\u00a0saw that yesterday\u00a0in\u00a0the market. We saw the S&amp;Ps down, what, 50 or 60 points at one point, and then pretty much back to the flat line.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0surprising to me we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0see volatility pop a little bit more, and that just tells me that most people are looking at this as, \u201cOkay, this is what it is\u2014we\u2019ve got to catch up.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jeff-praissman-1\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Got it. And\u00a0kind of keeping\u00a0in line with the subject of reports, we have some key numbers being released over the next few days as well, such as the November CPI, new home sales data, and the final GDP number. Which of these could have the biggest effect on the market if they surprise\u00a0either to\u00a0the upside or the downside?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer-2\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I think the inflation data\u2014CPI or PCE. To me, that one directly correlates with you, with me, with all the people out there spending money.\u00a0So\u00a0if we get a headline that inflation is not just still sticky but\u00a0maybe even\u00a0ticked up,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0got, what, one week or so left going into Christmas and the holidays here. Those people that\u00a0maybe haven\u2019t\u00a0spent yet might pull back a little bit further.\u00a0So\u00a0to me, that inflation data is going to be the most critical.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jeff-praissman-2\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And\u00a0let\u2019s\u00a0pivot a little bit\u00a0to crypto. With the recent slide of Bitcoin, has crypto lost some of its luster? It seemed like it was riding high with the Fed sort of accepting it as the future a couple of weeks ago, and now all of a sudden we get that kind of\u2014I don\u2019t want to say crash, that\u2019s\u00a0not the right word\u2014but definitely a big correction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer-3\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I think what\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0seen is more of a disconnect.\u00a0All of\u00a0the things that we thought about Bitcoin over the last several years\u2014how it moved with the bond market, equities, the dollar, the Fed\u2014that\u2019s\u00a0all kind of disconnecting right now.\u00a0So\u00a0I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know\u00a0that\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0lost its luster.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0certainly not topping the headlines any longer, but I think there needs to be a new narrative for the bulls to take over here. They\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0count on this being a store of value or some of the old things that\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0relied on, even though this is still such a new asset class. So sure,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0out of favor right now. I\u00a0wouldn\u2019t\u00a0discount it, but I do think\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0seeing a lot of disconnect between what we thought Bitcoin traded on and what it really is trading on.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jeff-praissman-3\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yeah, that makes sense. And finally, I want to wrap it up with the dollar\u2014our old faithful benchmark. How has the dollar fared over the past five days?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scott-bauer-4\"><strong>Scott Bauer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s\u00a0been a lot of global news, obviously, and\u00a0I think the dollar\u00a0is\u00a0pretty much in\u00a0the same spot it was about a week ago.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0seen it go from around 98.5 at the top to about 97.5 on the bottom, and now\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0sitting right in that middle range, around 98 or so.\u00a0There are a lot of people in the camp saying the dollar is only going to get stronger from here, and a lot of people in the opposite camp as well.\u00a0There\u2019s just so much global uncertainty with central banks right now\u2014what is Japan going to do, what are we going to do, the dissension in the Fed. The dollar is a range-bound trade right now.\u00a0Very short\u00a0term, it could break out. If we get above the 98.5\u201399 level, look out to the upside. If we break down below 97.5, there could be some room to the downside.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jeff-praissman-4\"><strong>Jeff Praissman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott, this has been great as always.
