1\/ New Highs for ARKF<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With tech stocks in the driver’s seat, it was only a matter of time before the most speculative growth areas<\/a> started to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the Ark Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF<\/a>) made its highest weekly closing high since August last year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, ARKF is on the verge of completing a bearish-to-bullish reversal pattern<\/a>. If and when it does, it will be a major feather in the hat for stock market bulls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that the most speculative areas of the market are making new highs speaks to risk-seeking behavior and supports a bullish outlook for risk assets<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\/ Emerging Markets Break Higher<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to international equities, we like to see things with China<\/a> removed from the equation so that the country isn\u2019t such a dominant weighting, making the indexes more diversified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Emerging Markets Ex-China ETF (EMXC<\/a>) is the perfect vehicle that illustrates this theme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s EMXC reaching new 52-week highs this week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After over a year of building a rounding bottom<\/a> formation, price sliced through resistance<\/a>. If momentum achieves overbought readings, this would confirm the recent breakout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If EMXC holds this move, we could see a structural trend reversal and other global indexes participating to the upside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\/ The Right Read on Real Estate<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Homebuilders have been some of the strongest stocks since last year. However, we can\u2019t say the same for all equities with exposure to real estate<\/a>. In fact, real estate has been the worst sector by many measures over the same time frame. The chart below shows the opposing paths that these two groups of stocks are taking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Homebuilders (ITB<\/a>) are pressing to new highs relative to the broader market, the relative trend for Large-Cap Real Estate (XLRE<\/a>) recently made new all-time lows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of these groups has been trending steadily higher on both absolute and relative<\/a> terms. The other has been falling steadily. This begs the question as to which group is providing the right read when it comes to the health of the broader real estate and housing market<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4\/ Commodities Find Support<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A risk-on tone is spreading across the market, and it\u2019s not only tech and growth names enjoying a bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While commodities<\/a> are caught in correction<\/a> mode, we must remember that price doesn\u2019t travel in a straight line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check out rebar futures posting a potential failed breakdown<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The bounce in rebar fits with the strength we\u2019re witnessing from small caps and emerging market<\/a> equities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, copper has undercut former support. And crude oil is trading below its former cycle peak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if industrial metals such as rebar start catching higher, procyclical<\/a> commodities and their related stocks will likely follow suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
