TWS Release Notes
The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 906 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
Municipal bonds trading is now supported in TWS. All muni bond orders are Smart-routed, and may include Municenter, TradeWeb and Knight BondPoint exchanges in the routing algorithm. Create a muni bond data line on a trading page by entering the CUSIP in the Underlying field. You can find CUSIPs by entering the municipality in the TWS search field, or on any of the muni bond exchange pages.
To trade munis, you must upgrade your trading permissions and subscribe to Moody's Ratings via Account Management. You can access Account Management from the TWS View menu. Once in, use the Trading Access menu and select Trading Configuration. Check the Fixed Income checkbox for the United States. Note that customers who already subscribe to Fixed Income trading permissions will need to renew their subscription to include Muni bonds. Use the Market Data Subscriptions page to subscribe to Moody's US Bond Ratings and US Bond Real-Time Data.
A new set of scanner filters has been added to the filter criteria for US Corporate Bonds. These new fields provide more control for the scan results by allowing you to filter on market data, symbol, issuer, payment frequency, maturity date, industry, and much more. A sorting field at the top of the scanner allows you to sort results by CUSIP, maturity, bid or ask yield, subscription-based Moody rating and coupon rate. To subscribe to Moody's Ratings for 1.00 USD/month, log into Account Management and use the Trading Access menu to select the Market Data Permissions page.
To create a market scanner, from the Analytics menu select Market Scanner.See the TWS Users' Guide for more information.
The realtime market value for all currencies in your account can now be displayed on a trading page. Use the right-click menu from a blank line to select Create Cash Balance Row. Enter a currency and click OK. Note that the cash value displays in the Market Value field, which you can display by right-clicking in any of the column labels and selecting Customize Layout. Choose Market Value from the list of Available Columns and double-click to add to the page.
TWS startup processes have been streamlined to run more efficiently, reducing the time it takes for TWS to start.
The Select Account drop-down box has been added to the OptionTrader tool. If you select an account, Account Group or Allocation Profile, actions taken in the tool will be applied to the selected account(s). In addition, the checkbox to Show orders and trades for all accounts has been added to the panels section of the OptionTrader. If unchecked, only the orders and trades for the account(s) selected in the Select Account box will be shown.
The Summary tab on the advisor Account Window has been enhanced to include P&L values for all sub accounts. The window now includes two panels, a Balances panel that includes the existing fields, and a new Market Value panel. The Market Value panel can display Unrealized and Realized P&L, as well as total cash, net liquidation value, accrued interest and more.
You can now access Portfolio Analyst, IB’s dynamic online analytical reporting tool, directly from the TWS View menu.
For more information about Portfolio Analyst, see the software highlights page.
Non-guaranteed scale order combos can only use the Market-if-Touched (MIT) order type. This parameter will be enforced if you create a non-guaranteed combo within the ScaleTrader, and if you select Non-Guaranteed from the Misc panel of the order ticket. A Market-if-Touched order is similar to a stop order but the trigger price for a buy MIT order is placed below the current price, and for a sell MIT order above the current price. When the trigger is hit a market order is submitted.
If a customer submits an RFQ for a large FX order and then submits an order based on the RFQ, they will not receive a warning message if the order is larger than the specified size/price limitation. This validation process is by-passed for large orders based an RFQ.
Target orders that are linked to a parent order can now be flagged to use the fill price of the parent order as the basis to which the target's offset will be applied. Previously the target order price was specified at the same time as the parent order price and was used regardless of the actual fill price of the parent order.
BookTrader users will now be required to confirm their intentions before transmitting an order. Clicking in the Ask or Bid size columns will no longer result instantaneous transmission but instead will invoke the new Order Confirmation box with your order summary. Click Transmit to send the order, Cancel to cancel the order, or Open Order Ticket to make changes.
The following additions and modifications have also been included in TWS build 906:
- Yield Optimizer: The Loanable Quantity field has been included in the Loan Shares section of the Yield Optimizer. This field provides the shares that are available to loan from your long positions.
- In cases where TWS fields display automatically based on certain conditions, for example when you add an EFP to a page the Dividends column is displayed, in some cases the conditional field was opening on other pages that used the same page layout although it was required on these pages. This has been resolved.
