TWS Release Notes
The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 896 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
The Update Limit Orders feature, which allows you to automatically update the order price on selected orders to peg the bid, ask, midpoint, last or close with or without an offset amount, has been renamed and redesigned to be more intuitive and to provide expanded functionality. The new Update Orders dialog allows you to specify more order criteria when identifying the types of orders to update; it allows you to update the price for all order types, not just limit orders; it allows you to modify algo orders, and it lets you define the actions to take for orders that cannot be updated. This command is accessed by selecting Update Orders from the Order menu. These changes are also reflected in the Update Orders hotkey.
The Trader Dashboard now allows you to display the price change as both a percentage or as a value, and the two right-click menus have been consolidated. To display price change, right-click in Trader Dashboard and check both Show price change as value and Show price change as percentage. In addition, the right-click menu selections Remove item and Rename will be available if you have selected an item.
The Earning Estimates display is not longer supported. Previously this selection was available from the right-click menu on a stock ticker line.
You can now rename a trading page tab by right-clicking and selecting Rename Page. This is only available for user-created pages, not for system-generated pages including the Pending page and Market Scanner pages.
A new Dividend Yield% value has been added to the Ratios page for Reuters Fundamentals, and as an optional market data column in the trading window and on the Market Scanner pages. The Dividend Yield% is the dividends per share/current price and expressed as a percentage.
Advisors must now define all account aliases, whether they will be used in TWS or in Account Management, through the Account Administration section of Account Management rather than through the Alias editor in TWS. Previously, account aliases defined via Account Management were only used in Account Management, and those defined in TWS were only used in TWS.
The Order Origin field used by Advisors and other multi-account users now includes the selection Per Account, which will be set as the default value for new users.
You can now create non-guaranteed smart-routed combination orders for EUR and GBP products. Please note that these non-US combos are always non-guaranteed, which means that a single leg may fill without the entire combination being filled. More currencies will be available in the future.
A new Offset field, If touched, has been added to the Presets page, since the trigger value for market if touched and limit if touched orders works on the opposite side from the trigger for stop orders. This value is added to/subtracted from the market price to create the Stop Price.
The Trades window has a new Edit menu with Copy and Paste commands. In addition, the Auto-expand after partial fill checkbox has been moved to the Settings menu.
Real-time charts now allow the user to increase or decrease the width of bars on a chart using two new icons, Increase Bar Width and Decrease Bar Width. Each click of the icon increases or decreases bar by one pixel. In addition, the color has been added back into the candlesticks, which were all appearing white.
A new checkbox in the Orders configuration page, Disable auto-expand editor for orders with Presets, allows you to turn off the inline order editor that appears for certain order types, for example algo orders, if the specific order has a Preset strategy defined. Check this box if you prefer not to edit your order but to always use the order Preset values.
The following additions and modifications have also been included in TWS build 896:
API
- For API users who subscribe to regular market data, TWS will now propagate the haltedList ticks, which TWS receives when trading is halted on a contract, via the generic tick type ETickType.HALTED=49.
Blotter
The Blotter issues below have all been fixed for TWS 896:
- Sell short orders did not get sent to the Tickets panel when user clicks Accept from the Receiving Order popup.
- Functionality for busted trades works correctly, but the quantity status fields in the Ticket did not accurately display the busts.
- Miscellaneous disappearing pop up boxes would re-appear the next time the user logged in, and were often inappropriate if the action they are requesting a response on was already completed.
- If the CCP is bounced, the Blotter order screen stops working and the ticket window appears where it shouldn't.
