TWS Notes for 887
The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 887 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
Algo orders are now supported in the Java, C++ and ActiveX API platforms, effective with the API 9.6 release. In addition, the process for handling volatility orders sent via the API has been modified to ensure these orders are transmitted.
The TWS real-time charts now include an Add Commentary command that lets you enter notes directly on a chart. Click the Add Commentary icon or use the sub-command in the Charts menu. After you enter the commentary and close the dialog box, a text-box outline is attached to your mouse. Move the cursor and box to the location where you want to display the commentary, and click to anchor the box.
In addition, several fixes have been implemented, including:
- Ensuring that changing the Background Print color for a chart does not also change all chart colors.
- Calculations for the RSI, Moving Average and Stochastic Oscillator studies have been corrected.
A new Configuration page, Ticker Row, has been created in the Display settings group. In the Fixed Income Display Settings area, you can customize the quantity display for fixed income products by selecting Size as number of contracts, Size as face value amount or Size as face value amount in thousands.
Global Configuration has been modified as follows:
- A new Display settings group has been added to the left pane of Global Configuration, and comprises the Settings, Style, Ticker Row and Toolbar pages. These configuration settings help you to customize the look and feel of your TWS pages.
- A new checkbox has been added to the Settings page of the Display group, Rename order type "Relative" to "Pegged-to-Primary." This allows users to change the name of the "Relative" order type to "Pegged to Primary." If this setting is checked, this change will also be reflected in the Order Types list on the Order Ticket and in an order row, where the entry REL will read PEG PRIM. Please note that checking this box changes only the name; the functionality of the order type remains the same.
- The Messages page now only displays disabled messages, and sorts by Message Name for easy reference.
The following items have been fixed or modified in build 887 of TWS:
- The Windows Grouping feature now includes linked minimize/maximize icons. When the minimize icon on one group window is clicked, all windows in the group are minimized. When one group window is maximized, all are maximized.
- An option to create a new layout has been added to the Layout dropdown list in the New Page dialog box, accessible by selecting the New subcommand from the Page menu. When you elect to create a new layout, the Global Configuration layout manager opens to allow you to customize the new layout which will be applied to your new page, and be accessible for application to other pages from the Trading Window Other Layouts group in Global Configuration.
- A delay in receiving executions was resulting in failed hedge delta orders in the dynamic volatility order management process. This has been fixed.
- The process to upload Excel .csv files to the BasketTrader has been fixed to allow lines with no value in the Expiry column to be successfully uploaded. This situation occurs if a basket includes options or futures contracts along with stocks.
- The Zero Position Row feature has been fixed to only show those zero position rows that previously held a position.
- The Auto-adjust Stop Limit Price feature has been fixed to accurately modify the limit price if the stop price is changed.
- Closed Fundamentals pages were still being considered "opened" from the TWS page count perspective, incorrectly reducing the number of available pages (26).
- The Alerts feature now completely removes all triggered and canceled alerts. In some situations a sound or blinking would continue after the alert should have been removed.
- The TWS was incorrectly handling RFQs that had originated in the API. This has been fixed.
- In the Trades window, an error that resulted in duplicate trades displaying if TWS was shut down abruptly has been fixed.
- An issue with the Short Sale Confirmation box not properly displaying for VOL or COMBO orders with one short-sell leg has been fixed. In addition, an issue that resulted in UG accounts being tagged as retail and consequently not allowing short sells has also been fixed.
- Advisors - New and modified Allocation Profiles were not being properly saved. Also, orders that used the Percent Change allocation method were incorrectly being allowed to be modified
