The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 886 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
A new family of stock algos has been added to our stock and options algo offerings in TWS. Twelve new algo strategies are available from the CSFBALGO tab on the Order Ticket, for US stocks direct-routed to CSFBALGO. Use our algorithmic trading strategies to help balance market impact with risk and achieve optimal executions on your large volume orders.
For information on these and all of our algo offerings, please see the Algos software highlights.
Advisors can now elect to use a selected account as the default allocation for new orders. To activate this feature, on the Global Configuration Default Allocation page, select the Use Currently Subscribed Account radio button. When this button is checked, the subscribed account as selected in the Select Account dropdown list on the Portfolio page, Account window or Rebalance window will be used as the default allocation for all new orders.
A new TWS trading tool, the Integrated Stock Window (ISW), provides an integrated single-window workspace for market data analysis and order management. The Quote panel shows the selected ticker. The Book Data Panel displays Level II quote components, split by bid and ask on either side of a real-time chart with editable parameters. The price level you select in the Book Data Panel is creates a new order in the Order Entry Panel, which can then be edited both manually and using the "price bump" buttons. Modify any order parameters, including the order type, time in force, quantity and price, from directly within the Order Entry Panel. Open multiple sub-panels along the bottom of the window to apply attributes such as OCA, Hidden and AON, and to define IBAlgo and scale parameters.
To open the Integrated Stock Window, click the ISW icon from the Trading toolbar, or use the Tools menu and select Integrated Stock Window.
A new TWS trading tool, the Greek Portfolio, allows you to select, analyze and trade option combinations that have specified Greek values (delta, gamma, vega, theta) while minimizing exposure to the time value. Select an objective and enter the desired quantity. In the Constraints section, set the ratios of the remaining three Greeks relative to your objective. In addition, you can limit the range of strikes and expiries to be considered, and include the underlying in the portfolio. Submit the query, and TWS returns a combination of up to eight contracts with the lowest total time value that meets your objective. When the portfolio is marketable, the Trade button is available below the query results. Click to trade to portfolio. The query continually updates, use the Freeze Updates button to stop updates. Use the Risk Navigator button to open a What-if portfolio and chart the expected P&L.
To open this window, highlight an underlying, and on the Analytics menu select Greek Portfolio.
TWS now calculates the Greek risk values, including Delta, Gamma, Vega and Theta, for spreads in the OptionTrader Quote Panel. To open the OptionTrader, select a ticker and from the Tools menu click OptionTrader. To display the Greeks columns, click the Configure wrench icon to open Global Configuration, then select Quote Panel in the left pane. In the right pane, open the Greeks category in the Available Columns list, select the desired columns and Add them to the Shown Columns list. To create a combination order, click the Options Spreads button in the OptionTrader toolbar and define the spread.
The Portfolio page, an automated system page comprising ticker lines for all current and prior positions, has been enhanced to include new panels and features that allow you to view the Market Value data from the Account window, the Trades panel, a separate Orders panel that holds orders created from a ticker line, and a series of order management "bump" buttons that automatically modify the selected order with a single click. To create a Portfolio page, on the Page menu select Create Portfolio Page. A group of icons in the top right corner of the page control the display of these new panels. Mouse over each icon to see its description. To close a panel, click the red X in the top left corner of the panel. Advisor accounts have one additional panel, Account Selector, to show portfolio information for All, or for a specific account or account group.
A new notification "Checkmark" icon will display in the status field of an order if that order uses any additional order attributes that aren't apparent when you look at the order line. Hold your mouse over the checkmark to see a list of any additional attributes.
TWS will recalculate and display all position and P&L values from the local currency to your base currency. These values display in italics to identify them as having been converted. To display local currency values in base, check Show all values in base currency on the Display page of Global Configuration. This display conversion will be reflected in the Account Window, and in the P&L columns on the trading pages.
For windows that allow multiple tabbed pages, including the main Trading window, OptionTrader, SpreadTrader, and Reuters Fundamentals, you can now re-sort the tab order alphabetically by right-clicking from a tab title and selecting Sort pages. You can instruct TWS to keep the alphabetical sort when you create new pages by checking Insert pages in alpha order from the Display page in Global Configuration.
A new Charts menu command to Compare to Index allows you to select from a list of indexes and have the index charted over the same time period in your active chart.
