TWS Notes for 879
The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 879 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
You can now choose Volatility as the order type for certain combination orders. This order type is available for combos with the following criteria:
- Routing: Combo volatility orders must be Smart-routed.
- Legs: All legs must be on the same underlying, and each leg must allow the VOL order type (i.e. You will not be able to create a BuyWrite VOL combo since a stock leg would not allow the VOL order type).
- Time in Force: Only DAY orders are supported for VOL combos.
Volatility orders calculate the limit price as a function of the volatility. You can specify the price for the combo in one of two ways: in terms of overall order volatility, which assigns the same volatility to each leg of the combo, or in terms of per-leg volatility, where you assign a unique volatility for each leg using the Basic tab of the Order Ticket.
You can elect to have TWS dynamically manage your Vol combo. If you check Continuous Update TWS will modify the order price based on price changes in the underlying. You can also create a delta hedge order for the combo by selecting the Hedge Order Type (market, limit or relative). The quantity of underlying units to be bought is calculated as a sum of units to be bought per leg, taking into consideration leg ratios.
A new, optional market data column displays the difference between the previous night's close and the opening price. You can elect to display this value in the currency unit or percentage points (100% * Gap/Today's Open). You can toggle between currency and Percentage displays using the right-click menu on the field title and selecting "Toggle Display."
You can now add the Open Interest column to the Option Chains layout and the Quote Panel in the OptionTrader. To add this field, right click in the column headings and select Configure Option Chain (or Configure Quote Panel). Add a field by double-clicking the field name. The Open Interest field is in the Options section of the Available Columns list.
Real-time charts now display splits and dividends directly on a chart. Splits display in magenta using the format "S 2:1." Dividends display in gold using the format "D 0.4." Hold your mouse over a display to get more details.
The following issues have been fixed in build 879 of TWS:

- IBExecution Services: CAD stocks could not be DVP'd through DTC.
- Advisors: The Percent of Net Liquidation allocation method was incorrectly including NLV from the master account.
