TWS Notes for 874
The enhancements
and modifications below are in build 874 of TWS. To identify
the build number, on the TWS Help menu
select About Trader Workstation.
The new Trade History command on the View menu of the Executions window brings you directly to the Trade Confirmations section of the Account Management/Report Management feature. Also on the Executions window, the two Export commands, Export Today's Reports and Export Previous Day's Reports, can now be found under this File menu rather than in the File menu on the main trading window. In addition, you can now elect to include the underlying symbol, the local symbol or both when exporting reports.
Customers who log into TWS can now elect to save their settings to our IB server so that they are saved and accessible regardless of the computer you use to log in.. This feature can be used with both our browser version that you log into from the website, and from the standalone version which you download and start from your computer. These settings, such as new pages, font changes, modified columns added market data and other customizations, will then appear the next time you log into TWS even if you're working from a different computer. To ensure that your settings are saved, make sure you check the Store settings on server checkbox on the File menu. This is NOT checked by default.
We have recently added more user-friendly features to the TWS, including a Close icon (x) to hide buttons, for example the OptionTrader shows a group of buttons that include Add Underlying, Check Margin, Close Position, Reverse Position and View Account. You can hide this panel by clicking the 'x' icon in the panel's top right corner. You can re-display the buttons from the Settings configuration area for the specific page. In addition, we've made it easier to see if features are deselected by using more double-arrows and including a Show Disabled button on windows that could have more features enabled via the Feature Selector.
For orders on the Volatility page that use Continuous Update, the precautionary message that pops up to ask if you want to submit an order that exceeds values you set as "safety" values currently pops up each time the price changes enough to justify a new order being submitted. This has been modified to only display the message once per order.
You can now create a Smart-routed Exchange of Futures for Physical (EFP) combination order using a template in the Combo Selection box. To create an EFP combo, enter the symbol in the underlying field of the trading window, and choose Comb>IBEFP from the list of exchanges. In the Combo Selection box, use the dropdown arrow in the Strategy field to select Future EFP. Use the Multiple tab to create more than one EFP. Use the Single tab for one EFP.In the expiry field select the expiry and click OK.
A new panel called Statistics shows option-related statistics including: Vol Change, Opt. Volume change, Put/Call Volume, Call/Put Volume, Put/Call Interest, Call/Put Interest, and Open Interest Change. You can add or delete these columns using the right-click Configure Statistics Columns command from any column header. You can hide the panel by clicking the Close icon on the corner of the panel. To display the panel after closing it, use the OptionTrader Settings page on Global Configuration and check Display Statistics.
The following issues have been fixed in build 874 of TWS:
- Volatility Orders: The transmit function in the Transmit column was not working correctly for volatility orders.
- Volatility Orders: The limit price for volatility orders was being calculated incorrectly in cases where limited market data was available.
- IDEALPRO was not available as a condition trigger for conditional FX orders.
- The P&L for futures options was displaying 0.00 instead of the correct value.
- The Realized and Unrealized P&L values were not being populated until a tick occurred although bid, ask and last price data are available.
- The TWS price display for combination orders was resulting in some orders being sent in as unmarketable.
- The Greek values were not displaying correctly in OptionTrader.
- If you modified the availability of order types in the Feature Selector, the list of order types in the Type dropdown box on an order line would skip around and not allow you to correctly select an order type.
- Socket client API: The request Market Scanner parameter was not functioning correctly.
- The Penny Options scanner has been fixed to display correctly when you choose US Options as the scanner instrument.
- Advisors API: When advisors request portfolio updates through the java API, some of the account names were missing.
- Advisors: Advisors could not modify the Average Price for some clients. This feature is available in the Portfolio section of the Account window.
- Charts: When charting Forex products, the Pivot Point study was not loading correctly.
- Charts: The Autocomplete Trendline chart feature was turned on by default and would not allow a trendline to be drawn past the current date. This feature is now off by default.
- Non-US Futures: TWS was applying an incorrect trigger price for trailing stops on Z futures contracts on the LIFFE exchange.
- Non-US Futures: When submitting an RFQ for non-US futures, if you checked the Delta Neutral box the Future Expiry dropdown list did not correct sort the contracts by expiry as expected.
- The order ticket was re-centering itself on the trading window after you entered an underlying or exchange. This has been fixed so that the order ticket remains in place.
