Release Notes for Build 860
The enhancements and modifications below are in build 860 of TWS. To identify the build number, on the TWS Help menu select About Trader Workstation. For clarification on any of the items listed, refer to the appropriate section in the Users' Guide. Report any issues via email to TWS Support.
Advisors and IBrokers can now allocate shares using the allocation panel on the BookTrader.
You can now select FOK (Fill-or-Kill) from the Time in Force dropdown box on the Rapid Order Entry panel. FOK orders are only available for options direct-routed to the ISE.
You can now display a new column, Execution Price, to your order line. When an order fills or partially executes, the price will be displayed.
The SpreadTrader matrix now uses color coding for contracts in the Description column and across the top of the matrix to help quickly identify the maturity dates of the contracts.
You can now set up a hotkey to attach a Stop order or a trailing stop order to a selected limit order. These hotkeys perform the same function as right-clicking an order, and selecting Attach, then Auto Stop or Auto Trailing Stop. You can also hard-code a specific contract into a Buy or Sell hotkey. Currently, the Buy or Sell hotkey initiates an order for a selected contract. With the new hotkey, you could create a "Buy XYZ" hotkey that would initiate a Buy order for contract XYZ regardless of the ticker line that is highlighted on the trading window.
You can now populate (or create a new) a TWS page with contract information used to get market data by importing a formatted text file. To create the file, use a word processing application that allows you to save a file as .txt file type, for example Notepad, MS Word, Wordpad. Create one comma-delimited line for each line of market data you want with three different line types, using the following syntax:
DES, UNDERLYING, SECTYPE, EXCHANGE, EXPIRATION, STRIKE, PUT/CALL, MULTIPLIER
SYM, SYMBOL, EXCHANGE
CON, CONID, EXCHANGE
For the above lines, DES, SYM and CON indicate the line type. The DES line type requires information or placeholders for information, with the strike, Put/Call and multiplier fields being optional. Format for the expiry is YYYYMM, or YYYYMMDD. All entries must be in caps. An example for an options contract XYZ would be:
DES, XYZ, OPT, ISE, 200607, 75, CALL,
A stock contract for symbol XYZ in this line type would look like this:
DES, XYZ, STK, SMART,,,,
Where the commas are placeholders for fields you don't define for stocks. Using the SYM line type for a stock would look like this:
SYM, XYZ, SMART
Use the CON type to quickly enter contracts with a conid.
To import a .txt file, on the TWS File menu select Import Contracts. In the File Name box, use the Browse button to select the .txt file whose data you want to import. To put this data on a new page, click the New Page button and enter a Page name. If left blank, your contracts will be imported to the bottom of the active trading page.
The realized P&L value will no longer show as a percent value. In addition, the Unrealized P&L percent now displays for short positions.
Currently you will receive execution reports from the previous day for contracts that executed while you were logged out of TWS. You can now elect to filter out these reports and only receive executions for the current day.
You can now enable background coloring for options contracts to tell you at a glance whether or not a contract is in or out of the money. In-the-money options will have a green background in the Underlying, Exchange and Description columns. Out-of-the-money contracts will display a red background. At-the-money options will have no special coloring. To enable this feature, on the Configure menu select Global Configuration, then select Display.
You can now elect to display the contract description on the Executions Summary page in either Symbol mode or the default Underlying mode using the Settings menu on the Executions page. Previously you had to define this setting from the Global Configuration page.
- You can now attach bracket orders to options routed to the BOX exchange from the OptionTrader window. Previously you could only create bracket orders for options using the main trading window.
- Previously if you enabled the Confirm on Submit action that required you to confirm an order, you weren't able to use any parent/child order types, such as bracket or conditional orders. This has been fixed.
