TWS Stock Loan and Borrow

PRODUCT  HIGHLIGHTS
TWS Stock Borrow and Loan

Interactive Brokers, an innovator in direct electronic market access, offers trading via AQS®, the first automated, centrally-cleared electronic marketplace for Stock Borrow and Loan transactions.1

IB's Trader Workstation provides a centralized environment that integrates your position and account information into the AQS Marketplace trading tool, and provides transparent access to the stock loan market, eliminating the need to manually synchronize loan/borrow trades and pricing data between two different applications.

  • Integrated with TWS Account Information
Complete and seamless integration with TWS allows customers to view short positions, monitor risk and account activity, and borrow and lend securities all from within the same application.

  • Transparent Pricing
Transparent pricing with the borrow fee and interest rate broken out into two separate values, versus opaque over-the-counter “bundled” costs. The borrow fee2 is directly quoted in the TWS market data line for the product, and the interest rate3 (Effective Federal Funds Rate) is displayed when you hold your mouse over any borrow fee.
  • Transparency - Reliability - Efficiency
The AQS market for securities lending brings transparency, reliability and efficiency to the stock borrow/loan markets via automated price discovery and improved credit-worthiness through use of the AAA-rated OCC as the counterparty to all stock loan and borrow transactions among the broker-dealers who are members of AQS. DTC settles all transactions.

  • Ease of Use
TWS automatically calculates and displays shares you have available to lend. Borrows can be returned by the customer daily.
