Individual account holders can transfer all of their assets
from their existing account to an Advisor-managed account. When you do
this, your existing account is automatically closed.
Note: The
Account Titles and Tax IDs for your existing account and the new Advisor
Client account must match.
To transfer all of your assets into an Advisor-managed
account
Identify an Advisor-managed account
you want to join as a client, then request that Advisor to initiate
a client account invitation.
Complete or have the Advisor complete
the Advisor Client Account Application.
Once your Advisor Client Account is
open, log into Account Management with the username and password of
your original account.
Click Funds
Management in the left pane, then click Position
Transfers.
If the Secure Login System page opens,
this means that your account is enrolled in the Secure Login System
and you must use your security device to log into the Fund Transfers
page:
Enter your username, then click
OK.
Read the instructions on the screen
carefully, then enter the response string from your security device
or temporary password and click OK.
In the Transfer Method list, select
Transfer of Assets - To an IB Advisor-Managed
Account.
Enter the following information in
the fields provided:
The username of the destination
account (the destination account is the Advisor-Managed account).
The password of the destination
account.
The account ID of the destination
account.
Click Continue.
Confirm your identity by entering
the confirmation number sent to you via email, then click Confirm.
Your original account
will be closed when your assets are transferred to an Advisor-managed
account.
